Aim

The participants compare common and newly achieved methodological skills in digital image processing and the use of Geographical Information Systems.

 

Content

The module comprises the following practical topics: Managing and geoprocessing of raster and vector data including digitization and visualization of geodata / preprocessing of optical remote sensing data (geometric and atmospheric corrections, dimension reduction) / sampling strategies and techniques for validation / classification and change detection, vegetation indices / approaches for the derivation of geo- and biophysical parameters (e.g. LAI, FAPAR, Chlorophyll content of leafs, land surface temperature, topography, surface albedo).
