About
Konstantin joined the EORC as a doctoral researcher with an academic background in computer science. His PhD project focuses on the relationship between population development and open-pit mining activities with a focus on central Africa, including socio-economic aspects. Besides helping out the UAV Team to fly drones, his main research interests are anchored within the methodological aspects of Deep Learning and big data. Secondary, he spends time writing software and tools to automatize various tasks regarding data collection, sorting, pre-processing and analysis. His favorite part about being a remote sensing researcher is getting to know study sites around the globe, picking out his favorites of what geo-spatial IT and geography has to offer.
