EAGLE Internship Presentation: “Internship at Helmholtz Zentrum Munich”

On February 03, 2026, Agnes Zwick will present her internship “Internship at Helmholtz Zentrum Munich” at 12:00 in seminar room 3, John-Skilton-Str. 4a.
From the abstract: From September to October 2025, the internship was completed at the Helmholtz Zentrum München under the supervision of Dr. Kathrin Wolf. The work focused on comparing different approaches for linking geocodes to environmental exposure data within the NAKO geodata framework. The main objective was to assess whether a generalized methodology could be applied across various environmental variables while preserving critical information. Several spatial linkage methods were applied, including extract, bilinear interpolation, buffer, and focal approaches, and their applicability and efficiency were evaluated.
In addition, the noise dataset by Staab (2025, DLR) was extended to include industrial, rail, and airport noise exposure data for the years 2017 and 2022.
1st supervisor: Dr. Sarah Schönbrodt-Stitt
2nd (external) supervisor: Dr. Kathrin Wolf
Host: Helmholtz Zentrum Munich
