About

Celia Baumhoer is a postdoctoral researcher in the team “Polar and Cold Regions” at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), German Remote Sensing Data Center (DFD). She received a PhD from the University of Würzburg on the topic “Glacier front dynamics of Antarctica – Analysing Changes in Glacier and Ice Shelf Front Position based on SAR Time Series“. Fascinated by snow and ice, Celia investigates glacier change and the effects of climate change on the cryosphere. Her major research area focuses on monitoring Antarctic ice shelf front dynamics by utilizing high-volume SAR satellite data in combination with artificial intelligence for image analysis.
